This recent (2015) study published in Ecology Letters looked at the concept of climatic niche conservatism (among others) in relation to species distribution models (SDMs).
The outcome does not shine brightly on these widely used models. So come, partake in the dramatic controversy! Or just come help plan out the rest of the tasty Crawfish Boil we are hosting next Friday. Either one works, both are encouraged!
