Coronavirus updates from EEB

March 14, 2020

Hello EEB students and community,

We hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy as we all wrap our heads around this situation. EEB, along with the rest of the University, is working to adapt and implement as much of our program as possible while also prioritizing our community’s health and safety.

For most of our students, we expect you will soon be returning to College Station, if you haven’t done so already. We wanted to reach out and be sure all of you have a comfortable and safe living arrangement, given that most of us won’t be spending as much time on campus in the coming weeks, and that some of us may need to be ready to self-quarantine if necessary. Please send Nick or any of us an email if you have any concerns on this front.

If any of you are back home or out of town for spring break, and are considering staying away from CS for an extended timeframe, EEB is happy to consider this on a case-by-case basis. Please communicate with your PI and instructors to ensure that all lab and personal responsibilities can still be met. For those of you with BIOL TA-ships, be looking for an email soon explaining the expectations for TAs for the coming weeks.

Following University guidelines, we are cancelling the EEB seminar series, at least for the next few weeks. We are currently exploring virtual options and formats.

EEB’s greatest asset is its amazing community. Let’s take this opportunity to support each other, and to optimize our learning and scholarship in this new environment. We urge everyone to practice social distancing where appropriate, and to follow all guidelines from the University and relevant health officials.

University coronavirus updates here.

Sincerely,

Gil, Micky, Spence and Nick
