Dr. Del Toro is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at Lawrence University. His research focuses on the effects of climate change on ecosystem functions and biodiversity, using a combination of field work and spatial/statistical modelling.

Title: Citizen Science: Designing for Actionable Knowledge
Dr. Cooper is an Associate Professor in Forest and Environmental Resources at North Carolina State University, and serves as Assistant Head for the Biodiversity Research Lab at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. She studies bird ecology and conservation, with a focus on citizen science and science communication. She is the founder of #CitSciChat, a monthly Q&A session on Twitter that brings together citizen scientists, project managers and scientists to share ideas, knowledge and resources. She has been featured as a presenter around the world, including the 2017 TEDxGreensboro, 2014 Nobel Peace Prize Forum and the 2014 AAAS Annual Meeting.

Title: Who’s Your Mommy?: Transgenerational effects in purple sea urchins in a global change context
Dr. Hofmann is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Ecology, Evolution and Marine Biology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her research focuses on the response of marine species to environmental changes, particularly ocean acidification and warming. She works in diverse areas, including both the coastal oceans of California and Antarctic waters, and she is an investigator in the Santa Barbara Coastal LTER. Dr. Hofmann is an Aldo Leopold Fellow (2009), has served as U.S. delegate to the IPCC and was named the 2015 UC Climate Champion.

Title: Why Phenotypic Variation Matters for Ecology
Dr. El-Sabaawi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at University of Victoria,
Her research covers both fundamental and applied science questions, with a focus on the
interactions between food webs and ecosystem processes, and how food webs change in
response to human activities. Her research spans multiple countries, with fields sites in Canada,

Tim Coulson
Dr. Tim Coulson is a Professor of Zoology at the University of Oxford. He is interested in using structured population models parameterized with data from both laboratory and field systems to link ecological and evolutionary theory. He has worked on systems ranging from laboratory populations of bulb mites, through experimental populations of guppies living wild in Trinidad to the reintroduced population of wolves living in Yellowstone. His recent work has shown that we should expect parameters that describe ecological change and those that characteristic evolution to vary together in the face of environmental change. In 2013 he became associate head of department of Zoology. He is also editor of the Journal of Animal Ecology.
