Friday, October 27, our own EEB student organization president Alyson Brokaw will be leading a discussion about bat-pitcher plant mutualism. Happy Bat Week! See you all there this Friday at O’Bannon’s at 4pm. Feel free to extend the invitation to other students. [Schoner et al 2017]
Now that everyone has had a week to settle into the new semester, we will be holding our first EEBISO meeting this Friday at 5:30pm at O’Bannon’s (on Northgate).
We would like to invite any grad students interested in participating to come join us and learn more about what we do. You do not need to be a part of the EEB Doctoral Program to participate, just have an interest in EEB topics. Our first journal club discussion will be next week (information to follow).
Mark your calendars! Annual EEB Crawfish boil, hosted by EEBISO, will take place on May 5, 2017!
This year’s fiesta will start around 6 pm, generously hosted at La Casa de Rosenthal.
The event will be BYOB. Also, please bring a side dish or dessert to share.
Darwin shirts (in adult and kids sizes) will be available for purchase at the party. Significant others, families and friends are all welcome.
This Friday April 21 we are going to be discussing “A mechanism of extreme growth and reliable signaling in sexually selected ornaments and weapons” by Emlen et al 2012 that made it all the way to Science. David Saenz is going to lead the discussion. [PDF]
