Open Source for Open Science Workshop 2023

Texas A&M University’s Ecology & Evolutionary Biology (EEB) program is back with its popular Open Source for Open Science (OSOS) workshop.

When:  August 19th and 20th
Where:  ILSB auditorium on the College Station campus

About OSOS

OSOS is a free two day workshop which introduces participants to the use of free, open-source tools for data analysis, statistical analysis and visualization, particularly via the statistical programming language R. No previous experience with programming or statistics is required or expected. A full schedule of the event including instructors and their topics is below this email.

While OSOS is aimed at new graduate students in the life sciences, the event is open to all, including undergraduates, faculty, staff, etc, as long as they RSVP. Many previous attendees have found the OSOS workshop to be a great introduction to a new world of programming and data analysis, and many others have found it to be a great refresher of already acquired skills.

Thanks to our co-sponsor, the Texas A&M Institute of Data Sciences (TAMIDS).

Registration

The event is free for all attendees, although we ask that attendees please pre-register at the following link:

If you consider yourself semi-experienced with the R programming language, and are interested in assisting with being an instructional aide during the event, please email the event coordinator David Bapst.  We are looking for more helpers!
