Graduate Program Coordinator
Heather Baldi

Heather Baldi is an agroecologist whose passion for conservation and reclamation collides with regenerative agriculture. Her teaching focuses on educating students about agronomic practices while dispelling myths regarding conventional agriculture, pesticides, and GMOs. Guided by the philosophy that everyone has something to teach and learn, she is deeply committed to student engagement. Her dedication earned her Texas A&M AgriLife’s Vice Chancellor’s Award in Excellence for Graduate Student Teaching in 2020, and she is also a Graduate Mentoring Academy Fellow.
Heather earned her BS from Texas A&M in 2015, double-majoring in Renewable Natural Resources and Rangeland Ecology & Management alongside a watershed certificate. She received her MS in Agronomy in 2019 and her PhD in Agronomy in 2026, both from Texas A&M. Her research focuses on creating and characterizing sustainable soil amendments using torrefaction. Her enthusiasm for perennial grass breeding and soil carbon sequestration has fostered international field research in Colombia and Brazil, and she was among the first students to initiate industrial hemp agronomic research at Texas A&M.
Elevating the graduate student experience, Heather champions student success by streamlining administrative processes and building a supportive, collaborative, and inclusive community. Her dedication to student advocacy and mentoring has earned her Texas A&M University’s Graduate & Professional School’s 2023 Outstanding Mentoring Award for Graduate and Professional Students in 2023 as well as Texas A&M University’s 2026 Excellence in Graduate Advising and President’s Advising awards.
Originally from Los Angeles, California, Heather enjoys playing darts and reading. She and her family also love bowling, board games, hiking, as well as attending concerts and sporting events.
