Spotlight: Kristina Chyn

April 11, 2017

Kristina Chyn is a 3rd year PhD student in Lee Fitzgerald’s lab.  Kristina is broadly interested in conservation, landscape ecology, and herpetology.

For her dissertation, she studies the direct and indirect effects of roads on reptiles and amphibians in Taiwan and is conducting her fieldwork on a Fulbright fellowship (2016-2017).

She received her B.S. in Science of Natural and Environmental Systems from Cornell University before joining the EEB program at TAMU.

EEB Journal Club

This week in the EEB Journal Club we will be discussing “Asexual queen succession in the subterranean termite Reticulitermes virginicus,” by the EEB seminar speaker Edward Vargo. Kristina Chyn will lead this week’s discussion.  [Get the paper.]

Due to the change to the ABS seminar, Journal Club will start at 4:30pm this week. Journal club takes place in ILSB 3145. Graduate students, post-docs and faculty of the EEB nature are all welcome.
